Vinzenz Schrottenbach (sometimes misspelled "Vincenz Schrotenbach") was born in Baden near Vienna in 1890. As a child he received training on violins, trumpets and trumpets. At the age of 12 he concentrated on the trumpet. After he graduated from Maschinenbauschule (Engine Engineering School, Ansbach) with a degree of engineer, he entered military service in the Imperial Navy, worked as an elevator operator, and was then obliged again during that time he served as a military musician in the Austrian Marine Band.

When he left the military for the second time, Vincent decided to oppose his family's wishes and pursue a career as a European solo cornetist tour. At the outbreak of World War I, he was in Britain and forced to change his name and escape to the United States to escape detention as a foreign enemy. He started his career as a player, distracted by other terms of conscription, this time in the US military as a musician.

While Bach was on tour in Pittsburgh in 1918, a repairman destroyed his mouthpiece, and Bach began experimenting with improvements and fabrication of the funnel.

The company was under pressure, but survived the depression and grew again afterward. During the Second World War, Bach overcame the shortages of workers and materials and, while not being converted to produce war material because of many competitors, the company reduced production. Throughout the early years, Bach was forced to mix the parts and modify the previous horns back into their holdings during this period to provide the requested instruments to the customers. Strike

On April 1, 2006, workers at Bach's plant in Elkhart started a three-year strike. Production was cut off until the company hired replacement workers, and about a third of the strikers went back to work. The strike ended when workers voted to dissolve the relationship between the company and the United Auto Workers union. As a result, retired employees lost their pensions.
