Myles Standish State Forest

Myles Standish is a soldier hired by Separatists who came to be known as Pilgrims. He came to Plymouth at the Mayflower in 1620. He designed the first fortress in Plymouth, and began trading with various tribes. He made Plymouth persist and enforced the law throughout the colony. He traveled back to England to trade goods to be brought back to Plymouth. Some time in the 1630s, he founded Duxbury, a town not far from Plymouth. In other parts of the forest lies many murders occurred in 1977. A woman while cycling in a forest was attacked and killed by a man. The case was not resolved until 2003, when the man accused of killing the women was eventually arrested and tried in court. It is believed that strange events occurred at these locations, but were heavily guarded by state police.

Spooner House Museum

The Spooner House Museum was built in 1747 and is run by five generations of the Spooner family. Located in downtown Plymouth, The Spooner House Museum has been said to be haunted. In 1778, Joshua Spooner was killed by three revolutionary soldiers on the orders of his wife, Bathsheba, and his body placed in a well. She became the first woman to be hanged in the United States.

Park Cordage

Cordage Park opened in 1824 and is the largest factory located in Plymouth. Plymouth Cordage Company is a rope manufacturer that designs special ropes for large ships. In the 1900s, it was the largest rope making factory in the world. After World War II, companies were unable to compete with the more advanced form of ropes made of fibers. In 1964, the factory finally closed, ending its 140-year operation. Many stories have been told about the music played throughout the old factory as well as the children laughing as well. Other stories tell of an old elevator operating its own, and spirits wandering all over. Another story is told of a boy who was caught in a chimney and died. The stories about Cordage Park are always told because this place is creepy. Some people who have worked in Cordage Park like night security guards have confirmed these stories. Like walking to one of the lifts in the back and saying, "Hey, can you get that for me", and the elevator opens itself.
